To tell a tale and play the part one must always know
That storybooks and old folklore resonate inside a child's heart.
So play it well and tell it tall, for it can only show
Where dreams are made and when imaginations really begin to start.
What is life and what are dreams, their imaginations begin to soar.
Can they fly, can they sing, can they bounce a ball from here to Beijing?
The more they hear, the more they think, the more their little hearts will begin dreaming.
So tell the tale and play it well for you'll never know.
Your child may be the next big inventor the world will ever bestow.

Walden's work incorporates the sometimes curious, scary and happy influence of children's stories on her own daughter and nephew. Drawing the surreal from the real, Walden uses natural light in all of her images and avoids digital aftereffects and stylization in favor of strong contrasts between light and dark. Her rich whites and deep shadows reflect the forces at work in rhymes and children's imaginations. Not unlike the designs of Carolina Herrera, Walden's images epitomize the simple power of elegant design and a coherent vision.
Kelly Walden is a self-described "image maker" working in photography, lithography, painting and illustration. Her work has been exhibited in Savannah and collected by such public figures as Ty Pennington and Blake Lively. Walden's images focus on expressing her inner child with a penchant for Southern charm. While she has lived all over the world, she is now settled in Richmond Hill, Georgia, where she performs echocardiograms of infant hearts for expectant mothers. This is her first exhibition in Atlanta.
