Preview 'Backstage Pass: Dior, Galliano, Jacobs, McQueen' at opening reception
Reception
Join London-based artist Robert Fairer at SCAD FASH for a preview reception celebrating his first museum exhibition, Backstage Pass: Dior, Galliano, Jacobs, and McQueen, on view Oct. 13, 2021 through April 16, 2022. The exhibition features more than 80 photographs drawn from Fairer’s prolific body of work that capture the zeitgeist of the turn of the 21st-century, an era of artistic zenith in runway show production.
Backstage Pass features many never-before-seen images of supermodels Mariacarla Boscono, Gisele Bundchen, Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson, Shalom Harlow, Chanel Iman, Kate Moss, and Alek Wek being made runway-ready by legendary makeup designers Pat McGrath and Val Garland, hair stylists Julien D’Ys and Orlando Pita, and famed milliners Stephen Jones and Philip Treacy. Designed as both a visual and aural experience, the exhibition re-creates the glamour and spirit of backstage.
