On the occasion of Atlanta Ballet’s new production, Coco Chanel: The Life of a Fashion Icon, join SCAD professor and fashion scholar Sarah Collins in the SCAD FASH film salon for a discussion on the designer’s complex history. Delve into the production’s chic designs as Collins, World War II historian Tyler Crafton-Karnes, and Atlanta Ballet’s costume director Colleen McGonegle explore Chanel’s contributions to fashion and her complicated social and political connections within the context of WWII.
Before the talk, tour the exhibition Cristóbal Balenciaga: Master of Tailoring, honoring the legendary couturier and contemporary of Chanel.
