Talk: 'On Indigo' with fibers artist Aboubakar Fofana
Event
In partnership with Villa Albertine, SCAD FASH welcomes African fibers artist Aboubakar Fofana. Born in Mali and raised in France, Fofana dedicates his practice to revitalizing traditional dyeing techniques and textile heritages indigenous to Africa. In conversation with Lauren Tate Baeza, curator at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, Fofana will share how his work celebrates cultural knowledge, specifically exploring the history of indigo in Africa and its impact on humanity.
This event is free for museum members and students and open to the public with the cost of admission.
