Costume designers often navigate challenging historical references and unorthodox materials when dressing characters for film. Referencing the clever work of industry titan Sandy Powell, SCAD professor Amy Lennertz shares powerful insights on the impact these ensembles on have on creatives across disciplines and why the art of sartorial storytelling is vital to successful worldbuilding.
